I couldn't find much on this, so I posted to the Help forum. Here's the response that I got:
Unfortunately, this isn't currently an option, but is something i believe they are looking to add in the future. However, there are two features which avail themselves to you which may be of benefit. The first is that if you click on the 'new' icon next to the topic name, this will load the topic up at the first new post [unread] since you last visited the topic, and if you click on the last post column of the topic, it will load the topic at the last post.
So, so only see the newest (unread) posts, click on the "new" icon. That should help.
